At present, the membrane industry plays an irreplaceable supporting role in solving water resources, air and water pollution, developing new energy industries, especially in improving energy and resource utilization. With the continuous progress of membrane technology, China's membrane industry has achieved rapid development and has become a common technology and supporting industry for the development of many important industries. In the first year of the 14th Five Year Plan, as an important field of chemical new materials, it is crucial to grasp the development direction of membrane technology and seize the development opportunities of the membrane industry. ”Gao Congyi, academician of the CAE Member, said. Zhao Jungui, Vice President and Secretary General of China Petrochemical Federation, pointed out that in the context of the "14th Five Year Plan" for the development of the petrochemical industry and the "dual carbon" background, high-end membrane materials, as one of the fields of chemical new materials, have become one of the key development areas. Therefore, the industry needs to accelerate innovative development and optimize industrial layout. The current development of the membrane industry is facing enormous opportunities and challenges. Gao Congxi believes that the high attention paid by the country to water security has brought market demand for the development of the membrane industry. The transformation and upgrading of industries, as well as the transformation of traditional processes, and the development of national strategic emerging industries such as energy conservation and environmental protection, biology, new energy, and new materials, have brought new development space and growth points to the membrane industry. At the same time, the huge demand in the international membrane market has brought unprecedented opportunities for the development of China's membrane industry. Although China's membrane industry has enormous opportunities, it also faces challenges such as insufficient innovation capabilities, limited product types, narrow application areas, prominent structural contradictions, and significant macroeconomic fluctuations in the terminal market. Regarding this, Zheng Genjiang, Chairman of the China Membrane Industry Association, stated that during the 14th Five Year Plan period, China's membrane industry will focus on technological innovation, key breakthroughs, high-end leadership, and strengthening and supplementing the supply chain. Especially in terms of technological innovation, we will focus on the major needs of national economic and social development, with a focus on three aspects of research: first, strengthening original innovation, focusing on the research and development of high-performance membranes and membrane materials, seizing the high ground of membrane technology, and supporting the high-quality development of China's membrane industry. The second is to strengthen the research and development of common technologies such as modularity, intelligence, mechatronics integration, and the generalization, standardization, and integration of components in membrane equipment. Through key technology development such as equipment design research, manufacturing process and process optimization, and key breakthroughs in domestically produced equipment, high performance and high added value of membrane equipment can be achieved, making the membrane equipment industry an advanced equipment manufacturing industry. The third is to strengthen research on technological applications, broaden application fields, and improve the level of membrane applications. For example, in the field of exchange membranes, targeted development of specific homogeneous ion exchange membranes and the development of a series of standardized and segmented membrane varieties is carried out to meet the typical material separation process requirements in industries such as chemical, biochemical, and energy. Zhang Wenming, a second level inspector of the Raw Materials Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, stated that China is currently in a critical period of developing from a membrane industry powerhouse to a membrane industry powerhouse. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will actively guide the development of the membrane industry through policies and plans. At the same time, during the 14th Five Year Plan period, the entire industry should take innovation as a means to enhance new driving forces for high-quality development, concentrate efforts on tackling a number of "bottlenecks" and "shortcomings" technologies, and enhance core competitiveness. At the same time, the industry also needs to ensure the stability of the industrial chain and supply chain, and enhance the independent and controllable ability of the industrial chain and supply chain. At the opening ceremony, the China Membrane Industry Association officially awarded the title of "China Membrane Industry Demonstration Base" to Membrane Valley. At the same time, the "International Forum on Cooperation and Development of Sino African Desalination and Water Resources Utilization" was held, and the China Membrane Industry Association and the Africa China Cooperation and Development Association signed a framework agreement.
